Mix of contemporary design and tradition

State-of-the-art, unique, homely - Berchtesgarden Youth Hostel's Untersberg Haus leaves hardly anything to be desired! Individualist design and modern Youth Hostel standards come together with an Alpine feel in the gallery and balcony room, the bay windows. And this is only at the site of the Hostel. The surroundings are equally unique. The Watzman thrones over the Berchtesgardener Land. Stags bell in the national park, the echo of trumpets resonates over Königssee lake, the bells ring at St. Bartholomä church.
Hotline to the summit
Berchtesgarden Youth Hostel is a great starting point for high goals - high up the Berchtesgardener Alps, high up in the high ropes course located right beside the Hostel. Hiking, cycling and rafting are activities to pursue all summer long - until the first snow begins to fall. Then it's time for heading off for the snowy mountains.
A different kind of white temptation lies within the mountains: rush down the slides into the Berchtesgarden salt mine, down below where the region's white gold lies.
Salt crystals glimmer and shine. Go underneath the earth by the day of light in search of the white gold. Take your family or group on a treasure hunt, make the day's lesson an adventure for your class.
We have developed mountain programmes to make your heart beat faster. Not just because it is so romantic, but because the mountains have so much to offer. What counts at Berchtesgarden Youth Hostel is to have great fun together. So that your stay with us is spectacular.
